I have tried and tested different products to give that flawless base, and now with the weather getting warmer, i still want my face to be flawless but use products which are much lighter.
Recently my skin has started to improve, i'm not getting as many breakouts as i used to. I'm trying to make the most of having almost clear skin! With the change in my skin, i have had to rethink my base makeup, and decided to choose products that will still enhance my natural skin and not cover it.
We all know with me having oily skin, that i always have to use a primer and the one that i have been using a lot is theMAC Prep + Prime Skin Base Smoother (£24.00). It does have a silicone feel, but i find it ideal for filling in my gigantic pores, whilst smoothing out the skin and giving a matte finish. Any tinted moisturiser or foundation sits perfectly on top of this.
My base of choice has been the Becca Ultra Sheer Foundation, and it appears that this has been discontinued, boo! I can only use this foundation on very good skin days, because it is super sheer. It doesn't give much coverage, and is sheerer than some tinted moisturisers out there. For some reason though, i love it! I have the shade bamboo, and it is very forgiving once blended into the skin. It kind of reminds me of MAC Face & Body Foundation.
With my skin tone changing a lot throughout the year, i needed a product that has the shades in one palette, and the MAC Pro Conceal & Correct Palette in Medium/Deep (£35.00) is ideal for me. For a quick fix for my under eye circles, the YSL Touche Eclat No. 3 (£25.00) is one of my favourites! I have been using this non-stop for the last two years, and not only does it brighten my under eye area, but makes me look more awake. I adore the light texture, as i am not really fond of anything heavy under my eyes.
I always have to set my makeup, and i was using the EX1 Pure Crushed Minerals Powder Foundation M400, and that recently finished. As i'm trying not to purchase anything, i found theBobbi Brown Skin Foundation Mineral Makeup Medium - Dark (£29.00)sitting in my drawer. I find using a mineral foundation sets my base makeup better than a translucent setting powder, and it keeps my makeup lasting longer.
The Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal (£30.00) is the final step to my flawless base makeup. I love applying it to the high points of my cheeks, and it catches the light beautifully. It gives my skin a healthy glow, and i find that the product is still there by the end of the day at the office.
What are your favourite products in creating the flawless base? Any must haves?
