After finishing the L'Oreal Skin Perfecton Cleanser, i needed something that would HELP my skin and not break me out or block my pores. When the REN ClearCalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser landed on my doorstep, i knew it could be the answer!
I have used a clay based cleanser before, which was the Dermal Clay Cleanser from Dermalogica but found it too drying on my combination skin, so i was a bit hesitant knowing that this was a clay cleanser too. Nevertheless.......this cleanser is completely and utterly different from what i have used before.
Now this cleanser does not foam up and i know many oily girls who love a foaming face wash, I'm one of them! Foaming face washes can actually strip your skin of the natural oils, making you more oily and your skin alkaline, which is a breeding ground for bacteria....hello spots!
This cleanser is not one that will remove your makeup, so ensure you have pre-cleansed before using this. I tend to use this as my morning cleanser and sometimes i use it with my clarisonic at night for a more deeper cleanse.
The clay cleanser is no way as thick as i had previously thought and massages really well onto the skin. When i have a bit more time, i tend to leave the cleanser on my face for a couple of minutes, as it sort of acts like a gentle mask. I use warm water to rinse, because cold water doesn't really remove it the best.
So, what about the results? I have been using it since the middle of November and hands down this is the best cleanser i have ever tried! It is the perfect product to use on blemished prone skin and somehow it manages to not only get rid of those litte nasties but prevents any future breakouts. Yes, i do still get the odd hormonal breakout, but it is nothing like what i was getting before. Additionally the clear packaging makes it easy to see when the product has almost finished.
I am now on my second bottle of this baby and this product is a winner for me! YAY! The REN ClearCalm 3 Clay Cleanser is £18 and can be purchased HERE.
